These services are available to Insight Society’s clients at all times of the year.

  • Information, Advice & Guidance.

This can be about on any topics that are of concern to you, or you want to discuss with another blind or sight impaired person who will understand and empathise with the situation you are in.

Everything you tell us will always be in strict confidence. We will also offer to represent you to organisations that you are dealing with. These include Social Services Departments, Government Agencies, Utility Companies and Schools and Colleges for example.

  • Employment Advice

Employment Advice including how to use the government’s Access to Work Scheme and the best ways for blind and sight impaired people to look for jobs and training places.

  • Housing and Accommodation

Housing and Home Care Services including how to use the Direct Payments Scheme that is available from Local Authorities in the West Midlands to fund the care needs of housebound blind and sight impaired people.

  • Social Security

Benefits Advice including Personal Independence Payments, Employment Support Allowance, Carers Allowance and Universal Credit.

  • Managing personal budgeting and avoiding fraud and dishonesty
  • Family Planning Advice
  • Domestic Abuse and Violence Helpline
  • Health Nutrition and Exercise
  • Liaison with schools and nurseries concerning children’s education
  • Regular Recreational, Sports and Leisure Services
